I think I read this somewhere, and thoughts of this were rekindled due to a recent conversation. The best way to live life is to ensure one makes decisions such that when one turns back to look through one’s life, one does not regret ANY of the decisions made.
I am not talking about small stupid ones like not exercising enough, but about giant ones like, say, choosing to go get your doctorate. When one feels guilty for one’s actions or one is unhappy about what one has done, it is indication enough that what one has done was wrong and redemption from that point on is probably almost impossible.
ps. This is not about ME! — I think going to grad school was the best decision I ever made!!
